About the Course

Introduction: The Vision

This is not a promise of success in 40 days. It is the story of a vision — and the discipline that followed.

Over the years, the author came to understand something deeply: businesses rarely fail because of bad products. They fail because their battalions are untrained. Planning. Sales. Accounting. Systems. Leadership. Measurement. Accountability.

These are principles — like gravity. Ignore them, and you fall. Respect them, and you build.

"The journey is yours. But you do not have to walk it blindly."

How to Use This Course

This course is built directly from The Joshua Business: The 12 Tribes of Business. Each of the twelve modules corresponds to one tribe — one operational pillar of a healthy, sustainable enterprise. The book's introduction explains the origin of this framework better than any summary could, so it is reproduced here in full before the modules begin.

Each module follows the same structure, deliberately, so you can move through the course at your own pace without losing your bearings:

  • Learning Objectives — what you should be able to do by the end of the module
  • The Twelve Points — the core teaching content for that tribe, drawn from the book
  • A Parable — a short story illustrating the chapter's principles in a real-world South African business setting
  • Moral of the Story — the single takeaway distilled from the parable
  • A Worksheet — practical, fillable questions to apply the module directly to your own business
  • An Action Checklist — five concrete steps to take this week

You do not need to complete all twelve modules in one sitting, or even in one month. Many entrepreneurs work through one tribe every one to two weeks, applying the worksheet and checklist before moving to the next. The order follows the book's structure, but if one tribe is causing you more pain right now than another — Admin & Accounting, for instance, or Team — there is no harm in starting there instead.

Keep a notebook or journal alongside this course. The worksheets give you space to jot brief notes, but your own reflections, numbers, and plans deserve more room to breathe than these pages allow.
